Ilkley Youth Choir - Inspiring and nurturing young voices
It is our aim to create a choir that is energetic, welcoming, inspiring and open to all young people regardless of previous singing experience. We hope to give all of our choir members the chance to create wonderful music and take part in exciting performance opportunities. Above all we hope to create the feeling of “family” and help members build friendships that last a lifetime.
Our vision is to build up a strong choir membership with a high standard of performance. The choir will be fun and engaging with an emphasis on creating wonderful music and lasting memories. We are looking for members who will be committed to weekly rehearsals, have lots of energy and love to sing! No previous experience is necessary but a willingness to learn and practice is a must.
Our Senior Choir is open to all young people aged 11 years
to 18 years.
Safeguarding
We take safeguarding very seriously at Ilkley Youth Choir. All members of staff and volunteers hold a fully enhanced DBS check and are expected to sign and adhere to our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy. At least two members of staff are trained in both Adult and Paediatric First Aid and have had Child Protection and Safeguarding training.
All of our Policies, Procedures and Training Certificates are available to view at every rehearsal should you wish to take a look. Your child’s safety is our top priority and we always want you and them to feel that they are safe whilst in our care.
Ilkley Youth Choir meets at Moorfield School, but please note that we rehearse in the Main Hall which is located at the rear of the school in a separate building.
